Warren H. Stewart, Sr., MDiv, DMin, is senior pastor at the First Institutional Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ where he has served since 1977. From 1994-2005 he was executive secretary of the Home Mission Board of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. Dr. Stewart is the recipient of numerous local and national awards and commendations including the Award of Excellence in Black Church Studies, which he received from the Ecumenical Center for Black Church Studies, Los Angeles. He is the author of How to Handle Giants: Sermons to African-American Youth and Their Mentors (Townsend Press, 1995).
