Table of Contents
Intended mainly for worship leaders and pastors but also for those in the pews who care about the quality of worship, Reinventing Sunday explores the purposes and possibilities of the worship experience in ways that inspire people to make worship at their church all that it can be. Author Brad Berglund discusses each element of the worship service in the context of his high vision for worship. He discusses gathering and greeting, praising and singing, praying, scripture reading, preaching, listening, communion, giving and more. Each step of the way, the author offers practical suggestions designed to enable churches to improve their worship experience in terms of quality, creativity and the meaning they draw from it.
An author, spiritual director and retreat director, Brad has a degree in theology (Eastern Theological Seminary) and music (classical guitar - Conservatory of Music, UMKC and the Royal Conservatory, Madrid) and has completed the program for spiritual direction at the Shalem Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. Currently he holds two positions: Director of Illuminated Journeys, an organization devoted to the spiritual deepening of individuals and churches, and Director of Reinventing Sunday, an ecumenical ministry that offers worship consulting, worship renewal seminars, and workshops on Taizé-style worship. He enjoys working with church musicians, pastors and worship committees throughout North America.
Brad's family includes his wife, Rita, and their two children, Brandon and Brianna.
