ABHMS is launching our online Center for Continuous Learning in June! A source to equip ministry leaders with practical mission education, our premier event is “Starting the Money Conversation.” In this two session training, we’ll expand your financial toolkit with booklets designed around four common money issues: resolving debt, getting bills in order, understanding and using credit, and saving for our goals. The first 500 individuals to register will receive copies of all four booklets, plus two that are published in Spanisha gift and resource for you personally or for your ministry setting.
REGISTER NOW for this insightful 90-minute, two session event being held on May 18th and May 25th.
You know that people are lost and that God wants them to be found. You also know that your church has the ability to meet the needs of those people. The question is, How do you draw in the people who need what your congregation has to offer? Beginning with a 12-question quiz to ascertain "How Ready Is Your Church to Grow?" author and consultant John Zehring goes on to offer a wealth of practical ideas and easy-to-implement strategies that are tailor-made for your local church's stage of growth and readiness. Emphasizing participation and engagement over membership numbers, Zehring urges church leaders to focus on meeting people's needs—in the congregation and, even more, in the surrounding community.
John Zehring is a retired pastor with more than 20 years of experience in parish ministry, serving United Church of Christ congregations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Maine. He has also served in higher education, primarily in development and institutional advancement. He is author of nineteen books, including You Can Run a Capital Campaign: A Step-by-Step Guide for Church Leaders (1989), and speaks nationally on church fundraising and the training of volunteers. John was founding editor of Seminary Development News, a publication for seminary presidents, vice presidents, and trustees (Association of Theological Schools, funded by the Lilly Endowment).
