About Us

Judson Press is the publishing ministry of American Baptist Churches USA, a historic Protestant denomination that includes 1.5 million members in 5,600 congregations in the United States and Puerto Rico. The denomination's national offices are housed in the Leadership and Mission Building in King of Prussia, PA.

The Judson Publishing ministry is a mission program of the American Baptist Home Mission Societies which serves Jesus Christ throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.

Founded in 1824 as the Baptist General Tract Society, Judson Press also has its roots in the following organizations:

• American Baptist Publication and Sunday School Society
• American Baptist Publication Society
• American Baptist Board of Education and Publication
• Board of Educational Ministries, American Baptist Churches USA

Under the name of the American Baptist Publication Society, the organization produced tracts, Bibles, Sunday school curriculum series, nonfiction and fiction books and denominational resources. The Publication Society registered the trademark Judson Press in 1922 in honor of Adoniram and Ann Judson to preserve both the denominational and missionary spirit.

Today, as part of the American Baptist Home Mission Societies, Judson Press develops Christ-centered leadership and discipleship resources for the healing and transformation of persons, congregations, and communities. Its backlist of 335 book titles (print and e-pub) are available in both secular and Christian bookstores as well as in online stores, libraries, educational institutions and churches. Judson publishes titles on Christian living, pastoral and church leadership, Baptist beliefs and history, preaching, Christian education, and the intercultural church. Other products include church supplies, Judson Bible Journeys adult curriculum and the devotional periodical, The Secret Place.
