A simple definition of preaching may be applying the Bible to modern circumstances, but Dr. Boykin Sanders takes a more in-depth approach. He analyzes both the historical study of the Bible and the preaching of text through the lens of literary criticism. While even the very definition of gospel may change throughout time, the necessity to preach it and proclaim the good news to congregations does not.
Boykin Sanders, PhD, is professor of New Testament and Greek at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. His research interests lie in the areas of the biblical canon and Pauline writings.
