Author Bio
Jason Richard Curry, PhD, MDiv, is the current Dean of the Chapel at Fisk University. Rev. Dr. Curry previously served as senior pastor at the historic St. Peter African Methodist Episcopal Church (AMEC) in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. A Master of Divinity graduate from Harvard Divinity School, Dr. Curry received his doctorate from Vanderbilt University. His research focused on pastoral counseling as informed by both his theoretical and practical experience on the topic. As a doctoral student, Curry was a participant in Vanderbilt University's clinical seminars at the Vine Street Pastoral Counseling Center and he was also an intern for the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention Project. While completing his Masters' Degree, Curry served the African-American community of Roxbury, MA as a counselor and case manager.
