Author Bio
Jessica C. Williams is an organizer, educator, and pastor working at the intersections of poverty abolition, spiritual formation, and social transformation. She serves as Director of Development and Engagement with the Kairos Center for Religions, Rights, and Social Justice, where she helps lead local organizing efforts, fundraising strategy, and educational programs. She also serves as Adjunct Faculty in Practical Theology at Union Theological Seminary (NYC). Williams holds a PhD in Adult Learning and Leadership from Kansas State University, where her research focused on the use of the Bible in movements to end poverty led by the poor. An American Baptist ordained minister with experience pastoring churches in West Virginia, New York, Iowa, and Kansas, her work brings together organizing, storytelling, biblical study, and leadership development to help build a movement to end poverty led by the poor.
