Description
Lesson 1
The Foundation of Love
Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:1-9; Joshua 24:14-15, 21-24
Key Theme—Love for God is not merely an emotion but a wholehearted devotion expressed through deliberate choice and faithful action. When we love God with all our heart, soul, and might, and choose daily to serve God above all competing loyalties, we establish the foundation upon which authentic Christian living is built.
Lesson 2
Love Expressed in Worship
Scripture: Psalm 103:1-13; Psalm 66:1-9, 16-20
Key Theme—Worship is love's natural response to God's character and actions. When we truly grasp the depth of God's compassion, forgiveness, and steadfast love, our hearts overflow with gratitude and praise. Authentic worship springs not from obligation but from genuine appreciation for who God is and what God has done, compelling us to invite others to "come and see" the Lord's goodness.
Lesson 3
Love Revealed in Christ
Scripture: Luke 1:26-31; 2:21-35
Key Theme—God's love is not abstract sentiment but concrete action, supremely demonstrated in the sending of Jesus Christ. In the incarnation, God's ancient promises find their fulfillment, revealing a love that bridges heaven and earth, transcends social boundaries, and offers salvation to all people. Jesus is love made visible, God's promise made flesh.
Lesson 4
Love Demonstrated in Service
Scripture: Matthew 25:31-46
Key Theme—Love for God finds its truest expression in concrete service to those in need. When we feed the hungry, welcome the stranger, clothe the naked, care for the sick, and visit the imprisoned, we encounter Christ himself. Authentic faith is not merely believed but lived, demonstrated through compassionate action toward "the least of these."
Lesson 5
Love Deepened Through Surrender
Scripture: Philippians 2:1-11; 3:7-14
Key Theme—Christ's self-emptying love becomes the pattern for our own lives. When we devote all to Christ and embrace the downward path of humility, we paradoxically discover true exaltation. Knowing Christ surpasses all other achievements and possessions in value, and the Christian life becomes a race requiring single-minded focus as we press forward toward the prize.
Lesson 6
Love Sustained through Faithfulness
Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 3:1-5; Psalm 91:1-8, 14-16
Key Theme—In a world filled with competing voices, conflicting ideologies, and constant pressure, Christians are called to hold fast to God's love as both their anchor and their witness. Love is sustained through confidence in God's protection and faithfulness, emboldening us to step out of our comfort zones and engage a world that can be hostile. God's love assures us that we are never alone.
